These terms are the agreement between you and Mehmet Ozay, the individual who makes Kaora. Using the app means accepting them. They are written to be read, not to be survived.
These Terms of Use are the Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (EULA) for Kaora. They apply to every copy of the app obtained through the Apple App Store. Your use of Kaora is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Where these terms conflict with Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, Apple's agreement prevails in respect of Apple's own responsibilities.
An app that tells you whether a food is considered safe in pregnancy, based on the public guidance of official bodies (BfR, ANSES, NHS, Voedingscentrum, ISS, AESAN, WHO/EFSA), with barcode scanning, plate and menu photo analysis and pregnancy-tracking tools. Some of it is free, the rest needs a subscription.
Kaora is not a medical device and is not medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent anything. Verdicts follow general guidance and may not cover your situation — allergies, conditions, medication. Make food decisions together with your doctor or midwife. In an emergency call your local emergency number.
Photo and product notes are produced by artificial intelligence and may be wrong: a food can be misrecognised, an ingredient missed, a verdict mistaken. They are labelled as AI content in the app. Always check the packaging and official information.
You may use the app anonymously or sign in with Apple or Google. Keep that account secure; anything done through it is treated as done by you. One account is for one person. You must be sixteen or older, or the age of digital consent where you live, whichever is higher.
Search and the food list are free. Barcode scanning, product notes and plate or menu photo analysis are limited per day on the free tier; the limits are shown in the app. Reasonable daily caps apply on every tier, including Pro, to prevent abuse. Limits may change; the app always shows the current ones.
How billing works — Kaora Pro is offered monthly, three-monthly and six-monthly. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least twenty-four hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within twenty-four hours of the end of the current period, at the price shown in the App Store for your region.
Free trial — where a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Cancelling during the trial means you are not charged. Apple grants one trial per Apple ID.
Managing and cancelling — subscriptions are managed in your device settings under your name → Subscriptions, not inside Kaora. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the period already paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds — purchases are made through Apple and refunds follow Apple's policy at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds directly.
Price changes — if a price rises, Apple notifies you and asks you to agree before the next renewal. Not agreeing simply ends the subscription at the end of the period.
Kaora is licensed to you personally: a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own private, non-commercial purposes on Apple devices you own or control.
You may not: copy, scrape or redistribute the food lists, texts, illustrations or the mascot; use the content to train a machine learning model; reverse engineer the app or work around the daily limits or the paywall; create multiple accounts to bypass limits; share one account with other people or resell access.
Photos you upload remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to process them to provide the service, keep them with the answer in your history and, if necessary, use them to defend a claim about that answer.
The food lists, texts, illustrations, the mascot, the name Kaora and the app itself remain ours. Nothing here transfers ownership to you.
We try to keep the service running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Content may be added, changed or removed; features may be retired. If we retire something that a live subscription paid for, we will say so in the app before it happens.
You may stop using Kaora at any time and delete your account from the Profile screen. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, attacks the service or abuses the limits — where the breach is minor and fixable, we will say so first.
Kaora is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law requires and does not allow us to exclude. To the extent the law permits, our total liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and the app shows a notice on next launch. Continuing to use Kaora after that means accepting the new version.
Kaora is distributed through the Apple App Store. To the extent these terms conflict with Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, Apple's EULA takes precedence with respect to Apple's responsibilities.
